Possibilities of non-earth life
I always wondered
why do we need to look for the other planets which are habitable. The
answer to this question is simple. To Survive!! Every living or
non-living thing has its expiry. So, our lovely planet earth is
going to die after some billion years. The reason for the death of
earth is Sun. It is estimated that after around 4 billion years from
now, the sun will become a red giant. It will swallow the earth.
Other possibilities
of the death of earth are endless. It may be an asteroid impact or
climate change or alien invasion. Yeah!! It sounds crazy right?! I
feel like, in the next 100 ye
ars, we will be able to detect the first non-earth life in the universe. But what will we get from this? A partner in this whole universe? Who knows how aliens will be! Will they be friendly? Or will they be like typical aliens shown in Hollywood movies?

So the question
comes, how should we find life? Scientists often speak about the
habitable conditions for a sustainable life. But I feel that who the
hell are we to decide that?! Now, just read carefully what I am going
to write next!
We are on the
planet Earth which is one of the eight planets in the solar system.
No other planet in our solar system has life. (Though, a mere
possibility of life is still there on the moons of Jupiter and
Saturn. Mostly Europa and Enceladus. We don’t know the interiors of
these planets.)
Our solar system is
one of the billions of solar systems in The Milky Way Galaxy. No one
knows if there is life in the milky way. Now, our Milky Way galaxy is one
of the 100 galaxies in Virgo Supercluster (Virgo SC). The observable
universe contains approximately 500 Million superclusters in it. And
the most fascinating thing is, ‘universe is only a drop of water in
an ocean named Multiverse!’.
Now just imagine,
what is OUR definition of HABITABLE in front of all this??! Where are
we in the Multiverse? And scientists state that if a planet has
oxygen and water on it, the planet is habitable and can contain life.
See, I understand that scientists are looking for a habitable place
for human beings and also they are looking if there is someone else
like us in the Universe( Yes! Not Multiverse. Because we still don’t
have that much-advanced technology to explore different Universes!)
But I personally feel that life can be anywhere! Who knows if
there are creatures who breathe CO2 or the creatures who
cannot survive in the temperature which is suitable for us!
The possibilities
for a non-earth life are endless! We just need to improve our scope
and the domain in which we are searching for!
